general lighting! HELP!!!!!!

Could anyone help me with lighting? how does it work? the light meters, the film? what lighting will i need for shooting on digital? and im shooting at night outdoors, what can I do for that? just egernal help would be greatly apopreciated"

if you are shooting on a digital camera you dont need to worry about light and metering it. Whatever you see on the screen will be what you record. adjust the gain, or aperture or filmspeed (if the camera will let you.)
However I suggest you do artificially light the scene. It will look much better. Experiment a little with different colored gels.
But again a digital camera it will sort out the aperture for you (you dont need a light meter)
